Laura is a Consultant Physiotherapist specialising in spinal conditions. In 2002, she completed her master's degree in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy and became a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). She is the education and training lead for advanced practitioners and physiotherapists ensuring clinicians maintain their competency and expertise to deliver the service for the Sussex Musculoskeletal Partnership. She is affiliated to the University of Brighton and is an external examiner and clinical mentor for the master's course leading to membership of the MACP. Laura's special interest is in serious pathologies of the spine and she has presented nationally and internationally on this subject. She has written a number of papers related to serious pathology and teaches at postgraduate level. More recently she has been involved in a national campaign to raise the awareness of cauda equina syndrome. She presented at WCPT 2017 on aspects related to the Advanced practice physiotherapist. She is the Vice President of The International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists, a sub group of the WCPT.
