Dr Luke Hughes is a grant-funded Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Applied Exercise Physiology at St Mary’s University, London, United Kingdom. He is also a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Honorary Researcher at University College London Hospital, within the National Health Service. He conducted his PhD in clinical blood flow restriction rehabilitation and continues his work in this area in his post-doctorate research position. He has 14 publications in his 4 years of work in blood flow restriction research and has received over £100,000 in grant funding for research. Luke has presented his work in blood flow restriction training at several international conferences and works with many sporting and clinical organisations around the world to provide his expertise on blood flow restriction. He currently has a particular interest in blood flow restriction exercise-induced hypoalgesia, the inflammatory response to exercise and the physiological effects of spaceflight and microgravity.
