Dr Ian Gatt

Physiotherapist, PhD

Dr Ian Gatt is a sports physiotherapist with over 25 years of experience working with elite athletes across Olympic, Commonwealth and professional sport. He is the former Head of Performance Services at GB Boxing and is currently Head Physiotherapist at the Inspire Sports Institute in India, where he supports athlete care, injury management and performance planning at the highest level. Ian has completed a PhD in Upper Limb Biomechanics and has extensive experience managing complex upper limb injuries in elite sporting environments. Ian is also the cutman for world champion boxer Anthony Joshua as well as other professional boxers. Alongside his clinical and performance work, Ian is passionate about education, delivering international workshops, webinars, conference presentations and university teaching. He also contributes to research and continues to educate health professionals and the wider public on sports medicine, upper limb injury management and high-performance care.
