BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE

The amount of research on plantar fasciitis is constantly expanding due to the common nature of the condition (1). The most recent best practice guide for the management of heel pain highlighted that foot orthoses show good efficacy and have good evidence behind them in this context (2). However, there is no consensus on the exact design features or prescription variables that foot orthoses should incorporate when prescribed for heel pain/plantar fascia pathology.

This study aimed to compare three different materials which are commonly used and identify if they had any influence on patient reported outcome scores.
