BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE

Psychologically informed care in the management of chronic low back pain (LBP) is important (1). Cognitive Functional Therapy (CFT) is an integrated method for delivering biopsychosocial management to people with LBP which aims to individualise treatment and coach them to self-manage their condition.

The objective of this Australian study was to provide a synthesis of the growing body of research investigating the effects of CFT versus more traditional forms of therapy care in the management of people with persistent non-specific low back pain (see figure 1).
