BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE
Treatment for chronic low back pain (CLBP) often involves exercise combined with pain education (PE). Current research does not make clear that one form of exercise is superior to others. This study compared two different forms of exercise with pain education for treatment of CLBP: bodyweight exercise and powerlifting style exercise. The authors hypothesized that powerlifting might be a better complement for PE.
Current research does not make clear that one form of exercise is superior to others in the treatment of chronic low back pain.
This study provides evidence that powerlifting combined with pain education is a safe treatment option for chronic low back pain.
METHODS
- 64 people with CLBP were randomized into two groups: bodyweight exercise and powerlifting.
