BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE
This systematic review and meta-synthesis is a qualitative exploration into the perceptions of people with chronic pain, asking what aids and hinders their ability to incorporate self-management skills into their daily lives following a self-management intervention program.
PRISMA & ENTREQ requirements were met for a thematic synthesis of data from the 33 included studies (512 participants). Factors that could be considered â€œEnablersâ€ and â€œBarriersâ€ to an individualâ€™s ability to incorporate self-management strategies into their daily lives were identified and correlated into themes.
